Projections and preparations: ISO-NE staff share expertise at September events

Collaboration, expertise, and innovation are three of ISO New England’s core values. Staff embody these values by presenting their work at electricity industry conferences and events around the region, the country, and the world. Here’s a selection of their September speaking engagements.
Five employees presented findings from the ISO’s 2024 Economic Study during a webinar on Sept. 29. The study modeled possible versions of the future power system to investigate how it might achieve policy goals while operating reliably and cost-effectively. Presenters included, from the Economic Studies & Environmental Outlook team, Patrick Boughan, supervisor; Richard Kornitsky and Kim Quach, engineers; and Ellie Ross, assistant engineer; as well as Kerry Schlichting, supervisor, State Policy, External Affairs.
Jon Black, manager, Advanced Forecasting & Analytics, discussed behind-the-meter solar and heat pump forecasting at a Chicago summit hosted by the technology company Itron on Sept. 17.
Mallory Waldrip, supervisor, Operations Energy Analytics, discussed the ISO’s cold weather preparations in a Sept. 4 webinar hosted by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).
