ISO-NE CEO keynotes New England Council’s regional energy forum
On April 27, ISO-NE’s president and CEO Gordon van Welie provided the keynote address to more than 130 people attending the New England Council’s (NEC) Regional Energy Forum at St. Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics. van Welie covered the region’s changing energy landscape and discussed how fuel security, especially in the winter, poses power grid reliability risks.
van Welie also participated in a panel discussion following his keynote address. Other panelists included Katie Dykes, chair, Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), chair, Board of Directors of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI); Dan Dolan, president, New England Power Generators Association (NEPGA); Doug Hurley, principal associate, Synapse Energy Economics; and Jim Roche, president, Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire. The panel was moderated by Mark Kalpin, partner, Holland & Knight and chair of NEC’s Energy & Environment Committee.
