ISO Minute: The tools that power the people behind the grid

ISO Minute is a video series featuring ISO New England employees sharing their experiences supporting the reliable operation and ongoing evolution of New England’s power grid.

Teams at ISO New England work around the clock to keep New England’s power grid reliable and its wholesale electricity markets running.

In this ISO Minute, Jaren Lutenegger, director of Operational Performance Training & Integration, explains how his team supports the employees responsible for those critical functions.

A key part of that work is looking ahead, identifying new challenges and determining if current processes are equipped to meet them.

“Can our existing software and market rules accomplish those problems, or do we need to make some more significant changes to how we’re operating the system and how we are operating the markets?” Lutenegger asks.
