New England’s power system has returned to normal operations following a prolonged period of cold weather across the region.
With conditions improving, ISO New England will resume a weekly publishing schedule for its rolling 21-day energy assessment.

ISO New England has issued a Cold Weather Watch for Sunday, Feb. 8, ahead of forecasted cold weather.
This alert is designed to inform power generators and government officials about the extreme cold temperatures expected across the region.
Under a Cold Weather Watch, the ISO still anticipates there will be adequate electric generation to meet expected demand and reserve requirements. No action is requested from the public.
As of Friday morning, consumer demand is anticipated to peak on Sunday, Feb. 8, at approximately 19,750 megawatts (MW).
The ISO’s latest 21-day forecast, published Friday morning, indicates a narrow energy margin on Sunday, although the region is still expected to meet consumer demand and required operating reserves. Energy margins are expected to improve as temperatures rise next week.
The ISO continues to monitor system conditions and will provide further updates, as needed, in this space.
