ISO Minute: Meet ISO New England CEO Vamsi Chadalavada

In this ISO Minute, meet Vamsi Chadalavada, ISO New England’s president and chief executive officer. Chadalavada brings two decades of experience at the ISO and a commitment to consensus-driven decision making, innovation, trust, and collaboration to serve the region’s energy needs.
Chadalavada joined the ISO in 2004 as vice president for market and system solutions and was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2008. As COO, he supervised power system and market operations, market development, system planning, information and cybersecurity services, participant relations and services, advanced technology solutions, and program management.
“I’ve found that solutions are so much more durable when there’s consensus and buy-in,” notes Chadalavada. “In making those decisions we consult with the states and the stakeholders, and that we make decisions that are always in the best interest of New England.”
Before joining ISO New England, Chadalavada held several leadership positions at Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution LLC, including vice president and general manager. He has a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from Iowa State University
