ISO Minute: Meet ISO New England’s Board of Directors
ISO Minute is a video series featuring ISO New England employees speaking about their experiences working for the region’s independent system operator and supporting the safe and reliable transition to clean energy.
In this ISO Minute, Cheryl LaFleur, chair of the ISO New England Board of Directors, provides insights into the collaboration and breadth of expertise that guide the board’s decisions and discussions.
ISO New England’s 10-member board brings together varied experience in areas such as financial markets, law, electric power operations, and regulation.
The public can reach out to the board any time through the ISO New England website.
Additionally, members of the public will have a chance to observe discussions and ask questions of the board at an open meeting on Nov. 5, 2025, from 1:00-4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel, 1 Hotel Drive, Boston, MA 02128.
Advance registration is required to attend in person. Members of the public may also attend virtually without registering. A recording of the meeting will be posted soon afterward.
About the board
The ISO elects its board members through a nominating process that involves representatives from the ISO New England Board of Directors, the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL), and the New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners. Candidates also receive the endorsement of the NEPOOL Participants Committee.
ISO New England board members are subject to the company’s code of conduct, which includes a non-affiliation provision designed to maintain the independence of the company from participants in New England’s wholesale markets and their affiliates.
