Consumer Liaison Group meeting will examine energy efficiency, demand forecasting

Registration is open for the next quarterly meeting of the Consumer Liaison Group (CLG) later this month in Rhode Island. A virtual attendance option is also available.
The program is titled “What’s In Demand (and In Control): The Role of Energy Efficiency and Demand Forecasting in Planning for the Region’s Grid and Markets.”
Peter Gill Case, vice chair of the Rhode Island Energy Efficiency and Resource Management Council, will give the keynote address.
Tyler Norris, a fellow and doctoral student in the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, will give a presentation on his group’s recent report, “Rethinking Load Growth: Assessing the Potential for Integration of Large Flexible Loads in US Power Systems.”
The meeting will also include a panel discussion featuring Marianne Perben, director of Planning Services at ISO New England; Brett Feldman, energy efficiency manager at Rhode Island Energy; and Dave Westman, director of regulatory and state agency affairs at the consulting firm VEIC. Jamie Dickerson, senior director of clean energy and climate programs at Acadia Center, will moderate.
A community welcome and update from ISO New England are also on the meeting agenda.
The meeting takes place Thursday, March 27, at CIC Providence, 225 Dyer St., Providence, Rhode Island. Lunch is at noon, followed by the meeting from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. All CLG meetings are free and open to the public.
The deadline for in-person registration is 4 p.m. on March 21. A virtual registration option is available for those who wish to participate via webinar.
Registration is required for in-person attendance to help with planning for seating and lunch, and to respect venue occupancy limits. While registration is not required for virtual attendance, attendees are encouraged to register to receive the meeting details as a calendar invitation. This allows the ISO to provide meeting updates if necessary, and it allows attendees to provide feedback in a post-meeting survey. Details for virtual attendance are available in the meeting agenda and via the calendar event on the CLG webpage.
