Final CLG meeting of 2024 features Coordinating Committee election, remarks from FERC commissioner and ISO-NE board members

The Consumer Liaison Group (CLG) held its final meeting of 2024 on December 4, featuring discussions with a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) commissioner and members of the ISO New England Board of Directors. The event also featured the election of the CLG Coordinating Committee (CLGCC) for the 2025–2026 term.

The meeting opened with remarks from Liz Anderson, chief of the Energy and Ratepayer Advocacy Division in the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General and outgoing CLGCC chair.

Kannan Thiruvengadam, director of Eastie Farm, gave a community welcome, highlighting the importance of community and climate-friendly development.

Anne George, vice president, chief external affairs and communications officer at ISO New England, provided a regional update. The update covered the ISO’s key projects, annual work plan, and winter outlook. George also recapped the origins of the CLG fifteen years ago.

A discussion with ISO New England Board of Directors Chair Cheryl LaFleur and member Michael Curran followed, and attendees had the opportunity to ask questions.

FERC Commissioner Judy Chang gave the keynote address. Chang provided an overview of FERC’s responsibilities and jurisdiction, and engaged with attendees during a question-and-answer session.

The CLG is a forum for sharing information between the ISO and electricity consumers in New England. The group meets quarterly. CLG meeting dates for 2025 will be posted to the ISO New England Calendar.
