Now online: Order No. 1920 Key Project page

ISO New England has launched a key project page for materials related to an important initiative around transmission planning.

The ISO initiated the key project in response to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Order No. 1920, Building for the Future through Electric Regional Transmission Planning and Cost Allocation.

This landmark rule sets new requirements for how organizations like ISO New England conduct long-term planning for regional transmission facilities and determine how to pay for them. The intent is to ensure the identification of more efficient or cost-effective regional transmission solutions.

Many elements of Order No. 1920 align with New England’s innovative Longer-Term Transmission Planning framework accepted by FERC in July.

For the convenience of those who’d like to follow the issue, the Order No. 1920 Key Project page will house information including committee materials, regulatory filings and orders, and other related materials.
