September Consumer Liaison Group meeting to focus on offshore wind

Registration is open for the next quarterly meeting of the Consumer Liaison Group (CLG), scheduled for September 12 at the Conference Center at Fort Trumbull State Park in New London, Connecticut.

The meeting, titled “Offshore Wind in New England: Opportunities and Challenges,” will include two panel discussions:

  • The first panel, “State Procurement, Regional Planning, and Transmission Buildout,” will be moderated by Connecticut Consumer Counsel Claire Coleman. It will feature panelists Al McBride, vice president of System Planning at ISO New England, and Abraham Silverman, managing director at the Center on Global Energy Policy.
  • The second panel, “Storage, Potential Cost Savings, and Winter Reliability,” will feature Josh Berman, staff attorney at the Sierra Club, Liz Mettetal, director of Integrated System Planning at Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. (E3), and Susan Muller, senior energy analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists.

There will also be a regional update from ISO New England and introductory remarks by Ulysses Hammond, interim executive director of the Connecticut Port Authority.

CLG meetings are free and open to the public. A virtual registration option is available for those who wish to participate via webinar, which begins at 12:30 p.m. Registration is required for both attendance options. Registration allows the CLG to plan accordingly for anticipated in-person attendees, and to provide virtual and teleconference details to Webex registrants.

Additional information regarding the CLG, including meeting agendas, speaker bios, and presentations, will be available on the CLG webpage.
