NBC10 segment takes viewers inside the ISO-NE control room

In a recent report for NBC10 Boston’s Climate 2023 series, Anne George, ISO New England’s vice president, Chief External Affairs and Communications Officer, shared insights on the ISO’s minute-by-minute work to keep the lights on for millions of New Englanders.

“Our job is to make sure we operate the system—the grid—in a reliable way so that a consumer can flip the switch and get the lights to turn on,” George says during the segment.

The episode focused on electrification. The region’s power system is undergoing a transition to clean energy, and ISO-NE plays a vital role in managing the flow of electricity and maintaining a reliable grid that will ensure residents can power their vehicles and heat their homes.
