ISO-NE Board of Directors to host public meeting

Update: The meeting agenda is now available.

The ISO New England Board of Directors will host an open meeting next month. The meeting will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 1-5 p.m. at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel, 5 Avenue of the Arts, Providence, Rhode Island.

The meeting will begin with opening remarks from ISO New England Board of Directors Chair Cheryl LaFleur, followed by public comments. After that there will be ISO management updates and Board discussion of the following topics:

  • The ISO’s Strategic Plan
  • Wholesale markets projects
  • Winter operations and energy adequacy

There also will be a presentation to the board by Dr. Robert Armstrong, director of the MIT Energy Initiative and lead author of a recent report titled “The Future of Energy Storage.”

The Board is conducting this open session to give the public an opportunity to observe discussions firsthand. Timeslots are available for members of the public requesting to comment directly, although the format of the meeting will not be a public hearing. The public can also submit written comments either in advance of the meeting or after the fact by emailing legal@iso-ne.com.

The meeting can accommodate about 100 in-person attendees from the public. All in-person attendees must be vaccinated for COVID-19. Advance registration is required through the ISO Training and Events Network (ISO-TEN) or the ISO New England Calendar.

A virtual attendance option will also be available, though people who attend this way will be in listen-only mode. A video of the meeting will be available afterward.

The ISO New England Board of Directors will host public Board meetings annually. Next year’s public meeting will take place in the fall and coincide with the ISO’s biennial Regional System Plan and the ISO’s long-standing public meeting to review the plan with New England stakeholders.
