The loss of a gentle genius

It is with immense sadness that we share the loss of one of our own, Eugene Litvinov, ISO-NE’s chief technologist, who passed away Friday, September 25, 2020.

Eugene’s life was an inspiration to all who knew him. Eugene was an industry leader, who cared deeply for his Business Architecture and Technology team, his peers, and the ISO. His influence and imprint are woven into every fiber of our company, from markets, to reliability, to system planning, to technology. Eugene’s impact on the energy industry was significant, from mentoring students to his groundbreaking work in market design and power system control. We will be forever poorer without him and forever richer for having him in our lives. Eugene was a dedicated family man, so we ask that you keep his wife and children in your thoughts during this difficult time.

We will post a longer tribute in the near future, but to learn more about Eugene’s professional accomplishments, please read this Newswire article from March announcing Eugene’s election into the National Academy of Engineering.
