FERC issues 2020 Energy Primer

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has posted its 2020 Energy Primer: A Handbook of Energy Market Basics. The publication describes fundamental market concepts and more detailed explanations of the wholesale natural gas, electricity, and other energy markets in the US. It also includes a chapter on market manipulation. According to FERC, the 140-page primer is a product of FERC staff and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Commission or any individual Commissioner.
