FERC announces July 15 technical conference to discuss New England’s energy security challenges
On April 22, ISO New England, in conjunction with the New England States Committee on Electricity (NESCOE) and the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL), requested that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) host a public technical conference in July 2019 to discuss “efforts to develop a comprehensive, longer-term, market-based solution to address New England’s energy security challenges” leading up to the expected mid-October filing of wholesale market changes by the ISO. On May 21, FERC announced it has scheduled a day-long technical conference for July 15 at the Commission’s offices in Washington, DC. In its announcement, FERC noted that “This staff-led public meeting will consist of three, 90-minute presentations by ISO-NE, NEPOOL stakeholders, and representatives from New England states with time for questions and answers reserved at the end of the meeting.” The meeting will be webcast.
