ISO-NE’s Michael Henderson steps down as chair of PAC after 12 years

On December 31, 2012, Michael Henderson, Director of Regional Planning and Coordination at ISO New England, stepped down as chair of the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC is a regional, public forum for stakeholders to provide input on New England’s power system planning process.

Mr. Henderson chaired the committee, guiding the development of dozens of transmission planning studies and the publication of 12 iterations of the Regional System Plan (RSP) and its precursor, the Regional Transmission Expansion Plan (RTEP). His ability to foster meaningful discussion on key issues and to lead a diverse body of stakeholders in collaboration have resulted in significant reliability improvements for New England’s power system over the past decade.

Don Gates, Director of Reliability Services at ISO New England, will succeed Mr. Henderson as the incoming PAC Chair for 2013. Following the example set by his predecessor, Mr. Gates will continue to ensure the regional system planning process is open, transparent, and reflects the insights and concerns of stakeholders.
