Registration is open for fall classroom training courses: WEM 101, WEM 201, and FCM 101

ISO New England is pleased to announce that registration is open for fall 2019 market training classes: WEM 101 in September, WEM 201 in November, and FCM 101 in October. These courses will be held at The Hotel Northampton.

Introduction to Wholesale Electricity Markets (WEM 101):
September 16-20, 2019
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday)
8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Tuesday and Wednesday)
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Thursday)
8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Friday)
This is a comprehensive five-day course about the New England wholesale electricity markets including an introduction to the Forward Capacity Market. It is intended for individuals who are new to the New England wholesale electricity markets or who need a refresher. The instructors are ISO New England subject matter experts. Attendance on all five days is required for completion. Register.

Forward Capacity Market (FCM 101)
October 21-24, 2019
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday and Tuesday)
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Wednesday and Thursday)
This is a comprehensive four-day course on New England’s Forward Capacity Market (FCM).  The instructors are ISO New England subject matter experts. Attendance on all four days is required for completion. Register

Intermediate Wholesale Electricity Markets (WEM 201):
November 5-7, 2019
8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
This intermediate-level three-day course provides a discussion of energy market concepts, including unit commitment, locational marginal pricing (LMP), energy and reserve co-optimization, market interactions, settlement mechanics, and Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs). The third day is filled with hands-on group exercises designed to reinforce the use of market tools to facilitate a better understanding of how to accomplish market goals. WEM 201 is intended for those with knowledge of the New England wholesale electricity markets at an introductory level who wish to advance to an intermediate level. Attendees should have at least two years of industry experience and/or attended WEM 101 to optimize the benefits of WEM 201, which builds on WEM 101. Attendance on all three days is required for completion. Register.
