Registration is open for virtual WEM 101 class

ISO New England is pleased to announce that registration is now open for Introduction to Wholesale Electricity Markets (WEM 101) – Virtual running September 14 to 21, 2020. A description and schedule are provided below.

This is a virtual course about the New England wholesale electricity markets including an introduction to the Forward Capacity Market. It is intended for individuals who are new to the New England wholesale electricity markets or those who need a refresher. The instructors are ISO New England subject matter experts.

Introduction to Wholesale Electricity Markets (WEM 101) – Virtual:

September 14 – 8:30 a.m to 2 p.m.

September 15 – 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

September 16 – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

September 17 – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

September 18 – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

September 21 – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Note: The course includes self-paced training assignments to be completed independently:

• ISO 101 Online: The Power System and ISO New England (18 minutes) / must be completed by September 11, 2020
• ISO 101 Online: Introduction to System Operations (29 minutes) / must be completed by September 11, 2020
• ISO 101 Online: Introduction to System Planning (37 minutes) / must be completed by September 11, 2020
• External Transactions (37 minutes) / must be completed by September 17, 2020

Registrants will receive an email with links for each of these self-paced training assignments prior to the start of WEM 101 on September 14. 

Attendance on all six days, as well as completion of self-paced training assignments, is required for course credit.
