Former administrator of US EPA Gina McCarthy to keynote RSP Public Meeting on September 14

ISO New England’s public forum on the draft 2017 Regional System Plan (RSP) will take place at the Seaport Boston Hotel on September 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Advanced registration is required; preliminary agenda is below.

The RSP forecasts New England’s electricity needs over the next 10 years and describes how the region’s power system can continue to meet those needs. The plan includes forecasts of demand, the development of resources needed to meet demand and replace retired resources, transmission upgrades needed for reliability, and strategic issues facing the region’s power grid. The ISO develops the plan through a collaborative process involving New England state regulators and policymakers, companies doing business in the wholesale electricity marketplace, consumer organizations, and other interested stakeholders. The final 2017 Regional System Plan will be issued later in the fall.
