ISO Minute: Preparing for April’s total solar eclipse

ISO Minute is a video series featuring ISO New England employees speaking about their experiences working for the region’s independent system operator and supporting a safe and reliable transition to clean energy.

In this ISO Minute, Mike Knowland, manager, Forecast and Scheduling, shares how ISO New England is preparing for the upcoming solar eclipse.

In the United States, the eclipse’s path of totality, where the moon will completely block the sun, spans from Texas to Maine, including northern Vermont and northern New Hampshire. ISO New England is collaborating with local utilities and neighboring grid operators to evaluate the expected conditions and potential impacts.
