ISO-NE CEO visits NECN to discuss natural gas dependency, other challenges affecting the regional grid

The New England Cable News (NECN) station welcomed Gordon van Welie, president and CEO of ISO New England, on June 10, to be a guest on their show “CEO Corner,” hosted by business editor Peter Howe.

These include, the region’s increasing dependence on natural gas and the pipeline capacity issues that have ensued as a result, upcoming retirement of power plants, the growth of renewable resources such as solar and wind, and the affect each are having on grid reliability and wholesale electricity process.

“CEO Corner” is a half hour program on NECN, which features a variety of interviews and discussions with chief executive officers from the New England area to help viewers learn about and understand ongoing topics and issues from top executives’ perspectives. The show airs Saturdays from 5:00-5:30 a.m. and Sundays from 4:30-5:00 a.m. and 8:30-9:00 p.m.
