ISO-NE CEO honored with Excellence Award from Energy Systems Integration Group

ISO New England President and CEO Gordon van Welie has been recognized with an Excellence Award from the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) for his work “identifying, communicating, and leading the way toward key reforms needed for the energy transition.”

ESIG is a nonprofit organization that marshals the expertise of the electricity industry’s technical community to support grid transformation and energy systems integration. The organization honored this year’s award recipients during its 2024 Spring Technical Workshop.

“ESIG’s annual awards program recognizes the energy industry’s achievements, and we’re seeing significant momentum on transformative projects in 2024,” said Mark Ahlstrom, ESIG Board of Directors president. “Announcing this year’s recipients truly demonstrates the innovation occurring among energy systems integration and operations leaders, and we are proud to celebrate them all.”

Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, van Welie shared credit with the ISO New England workforce.

“I am honored to receive the ESIG award, and also want to recognize the outstanding contributions of all the ISO New England employees,” he said. “Enabling the clean energy transition is truly a team effort.”
